Beers to Try Before You Die

Hey, Da Gizz!

Here ya go you wine-sipping snob… Here’s the link to GQ’s list of the 50 beers that real hop aficionados might just want to consume before walking the Streets of Glory. (Please forgive the occasional ad.)

Now, before everyone goes and mobs Bruce’s store, understand that some of these beers are designer or cult beers. In fact, some may not even be available on Cape Cod… But at least they’re out there. And if Da Gizz doesn’t have the beer, maybe he can get it for you or suggest a replacement. (I’ll betcha that HSS can even get you one of those $150 Samuel Adams Utopias beers if you ask nice. Sure would make for a nice collector’s item…)

Granted, some of these brews have a high enough alcohol content and an aging process to make them distant cousins of wine… So be it.

The only two additions I’d place on the list are a) home brew – carefully crafted home brew will give virtually any commercial beer a run for its money, and b) Tsingtao – a wonderfully delicate beer that compliments (without overpowering) something like a Colby Jack cheese. Besides, just think of the possible uses for cooking using any or all of these beers! Enjoy…

As always, see you by the racks…

    Hey Bruce
A friend of mine heard I was going to the Cape & wanted to know if I could get him a Utopia. They are scarce out here in Chicago.
