It’s no secret that we have more than our share of fun here at Harwich Spirits Shoppe… But rarely, there’s a time for somber thought, and this is one of those times. As you no doubt know, a magnitude 7 earthquake hit Port-au-Prince, Haiti a couple of days ago…
This one is bad… Really bad. Latest reports put the death toll at 40,000 to 50,000. All told, it looks like the quake will directly affect some three million people in the city of Port au Prince alone; that’s 12 times the entire population of Cape Cod. Here’s a great link that contains a list (with links) to trustworthy aid organizations.
Don’t forget our “Count the Cork Contest”! Also, keep in mind that not only is the Harwich Spirits Shoppe offering prizes, but now George’s Fish Market (complete with George’s Place) and the Port O’ Call gift shop are kicking in too. Stay tuned… Same “Bat time”, same “Bat blog”! The prize watch is on.
